Jean Dubuis

Jean Dubuis (1919-2010) is well known as the founding President of Les Philosophes de la Nature (L.P.N.). The courses he developed for association members: Fundamentals of Esoteric Knowledge, Spagyrics, Mineral Alchemy, and Qabala, and his final treatise, The Experience of Eternity, are the fruit of Jean's personal quest to understand the mechanisms of initiation.

Jean's exoteric education led to a specialty in physics, and expertise in electronics. He was employed by IBM France for three decades as an electronics engineer. By the 1970's he became aware of the research of the American, Robert A. Monroe, and understood that electronics could be applied to the study of consciousness and non-ordinary states of awareness.

Monroe applied his Hemi-Synch TM methods to achieve a number of desirable states of consciousness, notably the OOBE, out-of-body experience. Jean refers to this as the 'exteriorization of consciousness', and he frequently emphasized the importance of such an experience. "This gives certainty that life is possible outside the physical body. It comforts the physical body and has the advantage of having established a certain transparency between the right brain and the left brain (left spiritual energies, right material energies, almost completely separated), thus preparing the consciousness for the ascent". "We strongly reemphasise the fact that leaving the body is an experience and not an Initiation". (February 2004).

"However, even when the exteriorisation of consciousness occurs, we remain at level 10, we remain outside our body, but we are not in the world above. We remain in the space-time of the earth. And at that moment you notice that there are only two functions left in you, which are sight and sound. These are the tools that allow the creation of Consciousness within us, but they are themselves things that we have created. The faculty of sight and hearing was created by us over the millennia that preceded us". (June 2004)

"Death is not the end of man's life but a change of state. As the number of individuals who have experienced the exteriorisation of consciousness increases, the belief around death will disappear, which will create disorganisation in current civilisation, because civilisation works 80% on fear of death". (September 11, 2004).

Jean designed and built a number of devices, which he called "mind machines". In addition to stereo sound signals, his machines produced other stimuli: light via goggles with LEDs, electrical via pulsed mild electrical current similar to TENS [ transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation], magnetic, via electromagnetic coils on either side of the head.

NOTE: the dates in parethesis indicate the dates of lectures of workshops presented by Jean Dubuis in 2004. Moreh has translated the lecture notes into English, available via the Alchemy Archive. These lectures will be the basis for a follow-up article to be published on Inner Garden's Articles Section, and will deal in more detail on the application of this technology to the Path of Return.
